Older Eli moves to the farm of Waylon, a man whose past threatens to dazzle him. Eli's family works to restore the desolate fields, while he becomes interested with the forests. While around the plantation, Eli meets with the mystical Amanda if she gives an apple to him. She extracts a promise from him to prevent the heavy woods, the overnight.
