Cobbler Wu Di resides with his mother and so is crazy about MartialArts movie novels. He helps save her in a struggle with criminal Tian Baguang, although he has no martial-arts training and later repairs of drifting swords-woman Yuelou the shoe. She informs him she owes him a lifetime and can be seen on Qin Mountain when he ever needs her. Yuelou is really a princess who was due to wed the emperor but hurried away after putting fire into her palace quarters. Inlove, Wu Di lays out to get her, also fulfilling with with a hermit Buddhist monk who offers to carry him on as a student, and fighting his side kick in route along with river pirate Dugu. Yuelou plans to go to a martial arts tournament to ascertain her name, little knowing that the emperor's main eunuch Cheng has arranged for her to be protected by Penal Bureau officer Yang Guo and to gain the tournament, and so the emperor will award her the prize and persuade her to reconsider marriage.
