Goodnight, Mister Tom

Before Dunkirk, we're in a small English village. His wife and son died while he was away in the Navy during World War I. "Mr. Tom" Oakley still thinks about them, and he is now a lonely hermit. There are now too many children who were evacuated from London for people to house them. The 10-year-old, who is very quiet, comes to live with Mr. Tom almost without permission.
