Geek, and You Shall Find

Three filmmakers are so moved by the stories shared with them by cosplayers after attending a local comic book convention that they decide to delve deeper into geek culture. By attending other conventions across the country and speaking with legendary creators such as Kevin Eastman, Stan Lee, and George R.R. Martin, the trio begins to understand not only why people are drawn to superheroes and superhero stories, but also how being a geek can help them live deeper, richer lives. Geek, and You Shall Find explains the origin stories of Superman, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, among other renowned franchises. Creators explain how often they were influenced by real-life social evils while discussing how these characters and their worlds came to be. Most significantly, by continuing to speak with fans who have been inspired by these inventions, this video demonstrates how superheroes can also be used to address social issues.
