Ned (Liev Schreiber) is in the throes of a mid-life catastrophe. His work as a writer in an television show that is outrageous, semi-pornographic is significantly less than satisfying. His fifteen year is afraid of pretty much everything. After his wife, Jeannie (Helen Hunt), moves her sick and embittered father (Brian Dennehy) from Detroit into their house in NY, it puts additional strain on an already strained union.
