Enigma

The cargo ship Genesis, floating dead in space, has become an insoluble enigma. All of the crew members were killed on board. What started out as a straightforward transit assignment for the Genesis crew ends with not only their deaths, but also the loss of a key military prisoner. Earth's inhabitants are going through a difficult moment. They're fighting an alien race known as the Cnidarians, who are considerably superior than them. Following a brutal attack on the Vendetta, USSM special forces were able to apprehend their first Cnidarian prisoner, codenamed 71099. Ediolon, the phantom, is how he is known throughout the fleet. The USSM enlisted the freelance spacecraft Genesis, led by Nathaniel J Rhys, to surreptitiously take the prisoner to the high-security jail on Mars' moon Demos, realizing that a military transport would be too obvious a target for their adversary. The ship never showed up.
