Death of a Gunfighter

Marshal Frank Patch is an old-fashioned lawman in the turn-of-the-century Texas town of Cottownwood Springs, a town determined to modernize. The town leaders decide it's time for a change after he kills drunken Luke Mills in self-defense. Patch is asked to resign, but he refuses because the town promised him the job for as long as he wanted it when he hired him. Afraid for the future of the town, and even more afraid that Marshal Patch knows all of the town's dark secrets, the city fathers decide that old-fashioned violence is the only way to get rid of the unwanted lawman.
