Correspondences

Jorge de Sena had to flee his homeland. He first went to Brazil, then to the States. He never went back. During his 20-year exile, he wrote to Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen. These letters bear witness to the two poets' deep relationship, wishing to “fill years of distance with hours of conversation”. A dialogue is constructed through snippets and verses, illustrating their differing viewpoints but also their strong link and their efforts to keep it alive.
