Colliding Dreams
We live at a moment in time when the battle has been be of overwhelming international political and societal importance. From its inception, that battle has had troubling and powerful consequences for Palestinians and Israelis themselves. The narrative at its most basic level is one that involves two individuals struggling at a small but mathematically substantial part of property for recognition and expression. The tragedy of this history, because the Israeli novelist, Amos Oz, and also the scholar, Sari Nusseibeh, have all pointed out, comes from a battle between the rights of two individuals with equal and valid aspirations to nationhood and self expression at just one small territory to which they can lay claim.
