Brasilia, Contradictions of a New City

In 1967, de Andrade was invited by the Italian firm Olivetti to create a documentary on the new Brazilian funding city of Brasília. Built throughout the last fifty percent of the 1950s and also established in 1960, the city belonged to an initiative to occupy Brazil's huge indoor area and also was to be the personification of autonomous urban planning, devoid of the class divisions and inequalities that identify numerous metropolises.
