Amistad
In 1839, the slave ship Amistad place sail from Cuba to America. During the trip, Cinque directs the slaves at an unprecedented uprising. They are then held captive in Connecticut, and also their discharge becomes the subject of debate. Freed slave Theodore Joadson wants Cinque and others exonerated and recruits his instance to be helped by property lawyer Roger Baldwin. John Quincy Adams becomes an ally.
