A Barefoot Dream
After a string of failed business ventures, retired pro soccer player Kim Won-kang visits East Timor, where he discovers youngsters playing barefoot on rocky pitches. When he discovers that the country lacks a single sports goods outlet, he sees a new business opportunity and embarks on a plot to make rich quick by selling athletic shoes to the unshod children. Unfortunately, no one can afford to pay $60 for a pair of shoes, even on a generous payment plan, and before he knows it, he is reduced to coaching a squad of ragged 10-year-olds, and prospects are looking bleak.
