After her little son unintentionally drowns, a woman suffers a mental collapse and is eventually admitted to a psychiatric facility. After her release, her husband takes her to a quiet country estate in the hope that it will assist her to heal. There is, however, an eerie and suffocating presence within the mansion, and the mother begins to see things that could be, or could not be, hallucinations.
