Sam, a rich, independent paleontologist, finds a fossil that contradicts most people's ideas about how evolution works. When Sam dies, he leaves his money and a secret to Brad, who is an agnostic grandson. People who would kill Sam's discovery come close to Brad as he learns about his grandfather.
