The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: The True Story
This renowned American narrative was written in 1900 by L Frank Baum, a Chicago businessman, writer, poultry breeder, actor, boutique operator, Hollywood movie manager and fan of all things. His life spanned an age of achievement and innovation and also a number of these developments helped fuel that this story teller's imagination. His ambition was to develop the real fairytale and participate, inspire and the narrative continues to fascinate tens of thousands of fans of all ages from all over the earth. This documentary explores how The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has come to symbolise the American Dream also includes previously unseen footage by the Baum family archives, still clips and photographs by the early Oz films, in addition to interviews with family members, literary pros and American historians as it tells the story of one individual's life in parallel into the development of modern America.
