Having lost his horse in a bet, Pat Brennan hitches a ride using a stagecoach carrying Willard newly weds and Doretta Mims. At another station the trainer and its passengers fall under the hands of a trio of outlaws headed by a man named Usher. He makes the decision to keep her If Usher learns that Doretta could be the daughter of a rich copper-mine operator. Tension builds over the next 24 hours as a attachment develops between Brennan and Doretta and since Usher awaits a reply.
