The Sicilian Clan
Roger Santet is a convicted murderer sprung from prison by the Sicilian clan headed by the Vittorio Manalese that is aging. They conspire to steal a cache of stone from a display in Rome. As they're getting ready for that heist, the mobster friend Tony Nicosia suggests that an improved way to get the stones would be to ditch the transport plane whenever it's enroute to New York. The dogged inspector Le Goff is currently using of the tools to thwart their aims. Santet finds himself caught with the mob because of his relationship with Manalese's Daughter in Law though the heist is effective
