Andreas, a person fighting with the recent passing of their own isolation and his union, befriends a married couple also in the midst of psychological turmoil. In turn he meets with Anna, who is grieving the recent deaths of her husband and young child. She looks steadfast in her hunt for truth and excited in her faith, however gradually her delusions surface. Anna and andreas pursue a romance, however he's unable to overcome his feelings of embarrassment that is profound and remains disconnected. Meanwhile, an unknown person victimizes the island community.
