Wealthy sea captain Jim McKay arrives at the West to wed fiancée Pat Terrill's huge expanse. McKay can be a guy whose values and method of life are a mystery into the ranchers and ranch foreman Steve Leech takes an immediate dislike for him. Pat is controlled, selfish and spoiled Major Henry Terrill, by her father. The Major is involved at a civil war that was ruthless, over watering rights for cows, with a rough hewn clan directed by Rufus Hannassey. The property in question is owned by Julie Maragon and Terrill and Hannassey desire it.
