Some Came Running
After being away for several years, hard-drinking novelist Dave Hirsh eventually makes his way back to his hometown. Dave's brother wants him to find a steady girlfriend, so he sets him up with an English teacher named Gwen French. Moody Dave has a lot of animosity against his brother, so he spends his time hanging out with Bama Dillert, who is a professional gambler who likes to party till the early morning hours. Dave's ire builds as he is torn between Ginny Morehead, a carefree woman who adores him, and Gwen, who looks up to and admires him.
