In the respectable New England community of Peyton Place, by simply adopting a prudish attitude towards all things sensual -- which resulted in her adulterous daughter Allison -- shopkeeper Constance McKenzie attempts to compensate for a past indiscretion. Constance cannot help but be attracted to handsome new educator Michael Rossi although in spite of himself.
