Pelle the Conqueror
The 19th century's conclusion. A boat filled with emigrants concerns the island of Bornholm. Are Lasse along with his son Pelle who move to Denmark to get work. They find employment at a farm, but are treated as the smallest form of life. Pelle starts to speak Danish but is harassed as a foreigner. But none of them really wants to offer up their dream of finding a much better life .
