"Muffin Top: A Love Story" is the story of Suzanne (Cathryn Michon) a Women's Research pop-culture professor at Malibu University, that studies pictures of women in the media to get an income, yet is made insecure by the endless parade of female perfection that is our air brushed culture. She was going through IVF treatments to get pregnant with her network executive husband (Diedrich Bader), but finds on her birthday, her husband has knocked up his younger, skinnier, co-worker (Haylie Duff) and wants a divorce. Happy Birthday! She proceeds to get a more real version of that she really is, despite the joys of being unexpectedly single in Los Angeles, where non self-esteem for women is our number 1 export to the universe.
