Amidst a plane carrying a group of schoolboys crash lands, a war. With no survivors, the boys must fend for themselves. In the beginning they collaborate, however when the they divide up into two camps -- one led by the pragmatic Ralph and one other from Jack -- their society falls resulting in a examination of human temperament and a conclusion.
