King of the Children
An unschooled young man, among the plenty of sufferers of Mao's Cultural Change, is labouring in the countryside when he is suddenly appointed to educate in a near-by village institution. Gradually, he discovers the self-confidence to ditch the Maoist textbook as well as urge the hardly literate youngsters to write about their own lives and also sensations. At the same time, through a series of dream-like conferences with a young cowherd, he begins to sense the opportunities of a life past the parameters of typical education.
