Jan Dara: The Beginning
Founded on a Thai sensual novel, the film tells the story of Jan, a boy who grows up in a house lorded over Luang Wisnan, by his debauched and sadistic father. Set in the 1930?s the story recounts the growing pains of Jan, whose mother dies while giving birth and who's profoundly hated by his father. Jan develops with Aunt Wadhis step mother, and he struggles to reconcile his own guilt and longing with various women in his lifetime, for example a lady called Hyacinth, whom he loves, also later Madame Boonleunghis daddy's enthusiast who becomes a secret to Jan's sexual awakening.
