Dr. Génessier is bombarded with guilt after an injury that he caused disfigures the face of his son, the formerly beautiful Christiane, who outsiders believe is dead. Dr. Génessier, together side accomplice and lab helper Louise, kidnaps young women and brings them to the Génessier mansion. After rendering his victims unconscious, Dr. Génessier removes his faces and efforts to graft them Christiane's.
