Carl Lucas / Frankenstein has won four of the races and must acquire yet another to acquire his freedom. Before his race, both Lucas and his team, car and all, are transferred to a prison where they are going to compete in a Death Race in town. Additionally, to some marketer that wants to franchise the Death Race program, Ceaser runs at the exact same period.
