A young botanist transfers to a tiny desert community to research an intrusive plant types. While out on study, she involves the aid of a downed airplane just to find herself captured by an unskilled medicine mule that requires her to lead an expedition throughout the sweltering desert to his decline. A local sheriff is drawn right into the hunt as his rebellious daughter lays out to discover the missing botanist, all the while being sought by a regional medicine receiver.
