Blood Paradise
Robin Richards (Andréa Winter), a best-selling crime novelist, is sent by her publisher to the Swedish countryside in an attempt to reclaim her creative juices after her latest novel flopped. There, all by herself, she encounters a strange cast of characters, including her driver and most ardent fan, his explosively jealous wife, and the increasingly insane owner of the farm where she is staying. To put it another way, Robin feels completely out of place in her new circumstances because she is always dressed in glitzy, high-society attire. Filmmaker Patrick von Barkenberg (who also plays Robin's lover) has created an unusual debut picture that's drenched in beautiful atmospheres and laced throughout with quirky humor, but Winter keeps your attention rapt throughout.
