Beyond the Call
Russell Gates (David Strahairn) is a Vietnam veteran who killed a policeman. He is on death row for that crime. Pam O'Brien (Sissy Spacek), his childhood sweetheart, is taken aback by the news and doubts his ability to execute such a crime. Keith is not happy about her writing to him. She becomes obsessed with the case and tries to find every possible way that the man could still be alive. It takes a toll on her marriage and her family when she has to go to prison.
