Berlin in June. A kitchen-cum-living room in Prenzlauer Berg is filled with grief while propaganda observes the regimen's success over France. Anna and Otto Quangel's son has been murdered at front. This workingclass couple had believed from the'Führer' and followed but they realise that his promises are nothing but lies and deceit. They begin writing postcards in a bid to raise awareness: Cease the war machine and as a form of immunity! Kill Hitler! Putting their own lifestyles these cards are distributed by them from stairwells as well as in the entrances of buildings. However, the Gestapo and the SS are onto them, and their neighbours pose a threat.
