Witchblade
The anime series Witchblade is based on the same-named American comic book. Instead of adapting the original story, the producers decided to make a whole new story with all new characters. This game was made by Japanese studio Gonzo and American publisher Top Cow, which owns the rights to the Witchblade series. It was given a license to be released in the US. In January 2008, the English dub was shown for the first time on the US cable network IFC. The series finale aired on IFC on June 13, 2008. The show aired on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 3:30 AM ET. The show is also available on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, where it can be bought and downloaded. The first 12 episodes can also be downloaded through the Amazon Unbox service. You can also watch the show on Netflix Instant Stream. In June 2011, it was free to watch on Hulu. As of December 2008, there were 6 Volumes on DVD in the United States and Canada. Volume 1 came out in September 2007. There is also a full boxed set with all 24 episodes and an extra disc with extras. On November 3, 2009, a Blu-ray box set came out. Yoshimitsu Ohashi, who also directed Galaxy Angel and Galaxy Angel Z, was in charge of the anime, and Uno Makoto, who also worked on Stellvia and Love Hina, made the characters.
