The Newsroom
The Newsroom is a Canadian television comedy drama series which ran on CBC Television at the 1996--97, 2003--04 and 2004--05 seasons. A television picture, Escape from the Newsroom, premiered in 2002.
The show is put in the newsroom but is usually understood to be predicated upon the CBC itself. Inspired by American series The Larry Sanders Show and similar to such previous series since the British Drop the Dead Donkey and the Australian Frontline, the series mined a dark vein of humor from the political machinations and the sheer incompetence of those people involved in producing City Hour, the station's nightly newscast.
Though not initially thought to be a continuous series, the run of 13 episodes led The Newsroom to become one of the programs on television in the 1990s.
Observing this Newsroom's end, Finkleman produced three different short-run series for Foolish Heart , More Tears, the CBC and Foreign Objects, all of which comprised Findlay as a personality that was linking.
