The Great Penguin Rescue
The African penguin struggles to stay alive... Michaela Strachan is out to help them. As the newest member of SANCCOB's team to help penguin chicks, Michaela will find out why there are so few penguins now and what can be done to save them. The South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) saves hundreds of penguin chicks every year whose parents can't feed them because of bad weather. Up to 500 helpless chicks need to be saved, cared for, taught how to survive in the wild, and then released back into the wild. This can take up to six weeks of hard work.
