The Dead Zone
The Dead Zone Stephen King's Dead Zone was an American-Canadian science fiction/suspense series starring Anthony Michael Hall as Johnny Smith, who finds he's developed psychic abilities after having a coma. The series, credited as"centered on characters" in Stephen King's 1979 book of the same name, first aired in 2002, and was produced by Lionsgate Television and CBS Paramount Network Television for the USA Network.
The series was commissioned for UPN, however the system later dropped the series and it was picked up by USA. The series was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for the initial five seasons. The first and sixth season was billed as"the summer season that changes everything" and production was transferred to Montreal.
The Dead Zone was likely to be revived for a seventh season because of higher production cost and low ratings the series was canceled in December 2007 .
Some rumors spread that Syfy would pickup the series when it was canceled by USA, however it did not happen. Rumors of a made-for-TV-movie have all but faded eventually.
