The Cosby Show
The Cosby Show is an American television situation comedy starring Bill Cosby, which aired from September 20, 1984 until April 30, 1992. The series focuses on the family, an upper middleclass African American family.
According to TV Guide, the series"has been TV's most significant hit in the 1980s, and almost completely restored the sitcom genre along with NBC's ratings Bundle". The series was thrown to ABC, which lacked it. Entertainment Weekly said that The Cosby Show assisted to make possible a bigger variety of exhibits based on people of African descent, from Living Color. The Cosby Show was based on comedy routines. Sitcoms, such as Everyone Loves Raymond and do it yourself, would later follow that pattern. The series spawned the spinoff Another World, which ran for six seasons from 1987 to 1993.
