My Kingdom
In the nineteenth century, the Qing Dynasty's Prince Regent orders the execution of the entire Meng clan. Before his beheading, the leader vows that his family will avenge this travesty of justice. A five-year-old Meng boy named Erkui bravely sings an aria while awaiting his death. Master Yu, an opera star, and his seven-year-old pupil Guan Yilong are both moved by the power and purity of his voice. Master Yu saves the boy, and the two orphans become brothers. Years later, Master Yu receives the Prince Regent's coveted golden "The Mightiest Warrior" plaque, but loses it in a duel with his archrival Master Yue. Master Yu is exiled from the stage after his death and spends his time in the village training the two brothers. When the boys reach the age of manhood, they set out for Shanghai in search of vengeance. When they arrive in Shanghai, they quickly defeat Master Yue, not only reclaiming the plaque but also taking over the Yue's opera troupe.
