A newspaper author, wishing to prove a factor about the deficiency of circumstantial evidence, speaks his possible son-in-law Tom right into a scam in an attempt to subject awkwardness of the city's hard-line district attorney. The plan is to have Tom plant hints bring about his arrest for eliminating a women nightclub dancer. When Tom is found guilty, he is to disclose the setup and humiliate the DA.
